This is a fantastic gouge for spoon carving. We find it especially good for carving out the bowls on small Coffee Scoops and Spice Spoons. However, it is also very handy when carving Kuksas!

The total length of the tool is only 190mm, which makes it ideal to be contained in any small travelling spoon carving kit!

So what’s in the name?:

“Compact” – only 190mm long total

“Short Bent Gouge” – the gouge has a short blade with a tight bend in the second half of the blade

“Sweep #8, 14mm” – #8 refers to the number/radius of the curve in the gouge blade, and 14mm is the distance across the cutting end of the blade, from tip to tip
